Women of faith, women of courage, I see you. You are building walls of safety — boundaries, wisdom, protection, sacred spaces for your family. And still, the mockers come. They whisper, “Why do you need all that?” They laugh. They shame. They try to distract you from your holy work.
But like Nehemiah, you are called to keep building. Do not come down. The safety of your children, the stability of your life, the future of your household is a sacred work. Let no one tear it down with their ridicule.
Scripture:
“I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?” — Nehemiah 6:3 (ESV)
Living Parable:
Imagine a mother bird building her nest. She gathers twigs, straw, and feathers, weaving them carefully into a place of safety. Each piece matters. But as she builds, other birds mock her effort. They tell her it is unnecessary, too much work. Yet she keeps building, because she knows what is at stake — the lives of her little ones.
In the same way, your walls of safety — the boundaries you set, the wisdom you walk in, the sacred spaces you guard — are holy acts of care. They are not to be dismissed or dismantled by ridicule. God Himself entrusted this work to you.
Prayer / Affirmation:
Lord, I will not come down. I will keep building the walls of safety You placed in my care, no matter who mocks me. Strengthen my hands for the work and steady my heart against distraction.
Future Study Prompt:
Read Nehemiah 4:7–9. Reflect: How can I stay faithful to the protective work God has called me to build, even when others laugh or try to discourage me?
